Martial Arts History

1965 to 1966 -Royal Military College Sandhurst
1966 to 1973 -British Army, Western Europe, North West Europe and Near East and Far East. Martial Arts training first began.
1968 -Commenced Martial Arts training with instructors Major J Holman, U.S. Army, Special Forces and Captain Carl D. Breeze, U.S. Army Rangers.
1973 - Left British Army regulars. Enlisted on "D" Reserve and serving to present day.
1973 -Joined BUDO G.B., trained under the following instructors: - Sensei R.Bleakman, 8th Dan; Len Moss, 5th Dan.
1973 - I opened my first martial arts club.
1974 -Trained with and subsequently joined Northern BUDO Remne trained under the following instructors: - Sensei Dave Hodson, 6th Dan; Colin
Whittaker, 6th Dan and Bob Brown, 6th Dan.

1976 to 1979 -Trained on a regular basis at the W.J.J.A.'s Headquarters at the Lowlands under the instruction of Professors James Blundall, 9th Dan; Prof Robert Clark, 8th Dan; Sensei John Steadman, 6th Dan; Charles Hallmark, 5th Dan and Eric Marshall, 6th Dan.
1976 -Graded 1st Dan at Lowlands in December of that year, the grading panel comprised of Professors Jim Blundell, Robert Clark and Sensei C. Allmark
1977 to date -All licences and grades registered with the AMA.
1978 -Graded 2nd Dan at Lowlands in October of that year, with the above grading panel.
1978 -Awarded Judges and referees Certificate by Colin
Whittaker and F. Kell and other Senior Dan Grades
1979 to 1980 -Trained at the W.J.J.A. Headquarters at Freszakerley under the instruction of Sensei J. Steadman, R. Clark and E. Marshall.
1980 - Graded 3rd Dan at The International Course, Bootle Leisure Centre, Merseyside. The grading panel comprised of Soke James Blundell, Professors Richard Morris, R. Clark, C. Allmark and Sensei’s Willy Kliesch, Germany; Charles Gaven, S. Africa and Victor Ott, Germany.
1980 -Attended a coaching course organised by the M.A.C. at Fernhill Sports Centre under the instruction of Prof R Clark and was awarded Level 2 Coaching Certificate.
1980 - Joined B.A.S.K.A.
1980 to 1985 -Trained under the following B.A.S.K.A. instructors: - Sensei’s Dicky Wu, 5th Dan; Harvey Barker, 5th Dan; Mike Dimsdale, 5th Dan and Greg Wallace, 6th Dan.
1981 - Formed Bushi Kempo into its present form.
1981 -3rd Dan accepted by B.A.S.K.A by Mike Dimsdale.
1984 - Appointed Area Representative for B.A.S.K.A.
1984 – 4th Dan taken at the National B.A.S.K.A. Course, Tenby, the grading panel comprised of Sensei Greg Wallace, Mike Dimsdale and Harvey Barker.
1985 -Invited to train in Spain by Master Rafael Garcia,
6th Dan of the Shaolin Kempo Association, Spain.

1987 -Awarded Honorary 3rd Dan in Shaolin Kempo
1989 -Renewed acquaintance and trained with Colonel Marcus Bole, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe [S.H.A.P.E] and Commander of the First
Response Tactical Unit, Belgium. He was invited to train at our B.K.J.J.A. clubs and was a guest instructor at a training seminar held for selected Dan grades.
1989 -Invited to train at S.H.A.P.E. under the instruction of the Grand Master Eusi Kise, 9th Dan [Belgium] .The course was held for strictly military personnel and I was awarded 5th Dan by the Grand Master with the appropriate certificates issued by Col. Seigfried Bodeker in 1991.
1991 - Elected to the Executive Committee and Technical Standards Committee of the B.J.J.C. as Treasurer.
1991 - Undertook a Coaching Course, Levels 1 and 2 through the B.J.J.C. and under the supervision of Paul Lloyd Davies.
1991 -Awarded a national Red Cross Certificate for
Specifically sports related First Aid, registration number BF10018247/STFl168263.
1993 - Awarded 7th Dan by Col. Seigfried Bodeker in January.
