Hello and welcome to my dojo's website. My name is David Bloodholland and i am the person responsible for bringing the art of Kempo ju-jitsu Kansen Ryu to Sweden back in 2002. I began my personal journey within Kempo back in the early 90's as a student under my sensei and mentor, Soke Gene Mealey 7th Dan, I.J.J.F
The art of Kempo Ju-jitsu Kansen Ryu is an extremely practical form of self defence/ unarmed combat. With its history documented deep within Japanese/chinese/Okinawa battle techniques. Kempo ju-jitsu Kansen Ryu is a complete style teaching an excellant and practical blend of traditional and modern applications within techniques.
The mindset is just as important as the building of kempo knowledge, so i develop this within the student to help them achieve their potential within the art of kempo and even their own personal lives. Our dojo's can be found in Oskarshamn, Högsby and Kristinehamn, all of which follow a strict code of honour, discipline and dojo etiquette.
As the dojo father i attempt to create a family of our own within budo, inside the dojo or outside, we are responsible for each other, this attitude bonds us deeper within our Kempo training. Yes it takes energy from myself, but the end result by the standard of excellance each student shows under pressure is my reward.
Anyone can train within our dojo's regardless of age, sex, experience or physical disabilities. You only need to step into my dojo and let the journey begin. What i would say is have an open heart and mind and dedication. This is an art that requires all of those 3 things as it is not a hobby art.
My objectives are to develop the individual and give them something that will last them a lifetime. The art itself is a lifetime goal, but in the short term, self awareness, confidence, strength both body and soul and above all, an extremely effective self defence for an ever increasing violent society.
We have an open dojo policy against drugs and alcohol abuse, bullying and violent/abusive social issues. Childrens education holds a blend of practical techniques and morality/responsibility education. All childrens classes have a minimum of 4 instructors to give quality in teaching.
My very best wishes,
Renshi David BloodHolland 4th dan
